Scorekeeping

Read back a score before entering it

A brief shared check can keep the record understandable.

Say what the number means

Confirm whether you are reading a component score or the final net change for the hand. The scorekeeper accepts confirmed changes; it does not decide how a bid, meld or penalty should be settled.

Name both sides

Read the participant names and signs aloud. A minus sign is easy to overlook, especially when someone is keeping score while also explaining the game. Ask another person to check the newest row rather than only the cumulative total.

Preserve a useful note

Use the hand note to record a relevant agreement or correction. Avoid unnecessary personal information. A record should explain an entry to someone who was at the table, without becoming a transcript of the evening.

Keep a second copy

Export CSV before resetting or switching devices. Browser storage is local and can be cleared. If the newest hand is wrong, undo it and enter the corrected values. For an older error, retain the original export before rebuilding the session.
