Give the card a title
Write the version, source URL and the date you checked it. If someone hands you an unlabeled score table, do not assume it belongs to the rules you selected. Ask where it came from and what it is intended to describe.
Divide the space
Use one area for the sequence of a hand, another for the questions you often ask, and a third for your group’s agreed changes. Copying everything into one dense block makes a quick note difficult to scan.
Prefer questions to guesses
When you are unsure, write a question rather than filling the gap with a remembered answer. Resolve it with the same complete rules source before you start recording scores.
Test the note
During an open-hand practice, ask another learner to use the card without your explanation. If they cannot find the current stage or tell which version it describes, simplify the layout. This is an original learning exercise, not a replacement rulebook.
